I am now a grandma. My grandkids call me Tutu because I have been a dancer my whole life. I have been blessed with time spent as a dance student, a professional dancer, a teacher, a choreographer, a coach. Each season has been soul-filling and each allowed me the freedom to focus, to express quietly, to shout, to feel, to heal.
I am an artist at heart, and have always known there is something very special about the healing powers of the creative process.
I saw some unique garden decor about 4 years ago and thought, "I think I could make something like that." The first YART I made was for my mom. I made a few for my own garden, and even did a few commissions. My YART creations took off after losing my mom. Making YART was such a therapeutic activity that allowed me time to retreat and re-focus. This new creative process nourishes my soul and the artist in me.
I love searching for the special treasures I use for my YART. I love that each individual vase, plate, bowl (tutu), topper has its own, unique story. I love the challenge of working to make sure every piece of each YART fits together just right.
I believe that each piece of YART is meant for that person who is touched by its unique design.
